Corporate View is a large multinational corporation with several unique and successful strategic business units, or SBUs. Each SBU has its own business goals that contribute to the profitability of the whole corporation. Corporate View headquarters and Corporate View SBUs use a corporate Intranet to maintain vital communications links. In 1995, Corporations Inc. magazine listed Corporate View 80 of the 500 fastest-growing companies. Corporate View international headquarters and Corporate View Research Park are located in Boulder, Colorado, in the beautiful Rocky Mountains.

Mission of Corporate View

The mission of Corporate View is to design, develop, and deliver quality products and solutions for its customers and to make a profit for its stockholders. Effective and creative employees are the keys to customer satisfaction and stockholder earnings. To enhance employee effectiveness, Corporate View will encourage teamwork and cooperation at all levels, increase the technical skills of its employees, and enhance communications among Corporate View business units and workgroups.

Corporate Causes and Charities

Corporate View is proud of its support to charitable organizations and the generosity of its employees. The corporation matches 10 percent of the amounts donated by employees to charities and nonprofit organizations.

Corporate View Strategic Business Units

TeleView (Telephony & Electronics Division), located in Boulder, Colorado, is the fastest-growing division of Corporate View. TeleView designs, develops, and sells quality digital phones and other high-tech electronics devices. TeleView was organized on February 1, 1994, shortly after the breakup of AT&T. The TeleView long-distance service is now fourth in the industry, and its telephony products are in fifth place in terms of gross sales. Research and development teams are currently developing digital computer and television communications telephony products. TeleView has employees in seven countries around the world: Australia, Canada, England, France, Japan, New Zealand, and the United States.

RetailView, located in Dallas, Texas, specializes in outdoor sports equipment. RetailView started as a manufacturer of snowboards, in-line skates, mountain bikes, and parasails. RetailView now manufactures outdoor gear from sleeping bags and backpacks to climbing boots. The SBU was an early leader in electronic sports equipment, such as our global position system, electronic fish finders, pocket compasses, and running watches. The division offers a line of outdoor-related video games and a line of outdoor clothing.

MoneyView, in New York, New York, markets software products for the financial industry and individual consumers. MoneyView was one major player helping make banking institutions high-tech. The division's customized software can be used by banks, credit unions, and investing institutions of any size. Software packages for individual users include Be Your Own Banker, Be Your Own Investment Counselor, and Be Your Own Broker.

MediView, in Orlando, Florida, is divided into two groups—Medical and Pharmaceutical. Many clinics and hospitals use MediView's medical networking system so that all the data a medical staff uses during surgery can be correlated in one central area. The Medical product line also includes a high-tech surgery suit for plastic surgeons and laser glasses for surgeons doing orthoscopic surgery. The Pharmaceutical group has a research facility for developing new drugs. This group also develops research software programs so that research facilities can be linked together (like an Intranet for scientists) to avoid duplicating work.

PublishView, in Chicago, Illinois, publishes online newsletters and online trade magazines. In addition to online publishing for itself, PublishView is a major consultant for other businesses wishing to publish online. The division's publications include Medical Times, Recreational Times, and Money Times.

TravelView, in Boulder, Colorado, manages a small travel agency and a lodge near the Corporate View Research Park. By managing the travel agency and lodge, TravelView has cut Corporate View's travel budget by almost a third and still makes a profit. Plans for expansion are underway.
